We decided to leave the city of Berlin and take a 25 min tram ride to Potsdam.
The main attraction where the palaces built by Frederick the Great particularly Sanssouci. The first in 1745. He built the new palace some 20 years later. They are at either end of the property. It takes about 30 minuites to walk from the old palace to the new palaces. Those are not the only palaces on the estate. Other palaces he had built were for guests, grand picture gallery, a Chinese house, Roman baths, the Church of Peace, a Mosque and a working windmill. On the way home, we visited the town and enjoyed a delicious Italian meal. It was a nice getaway from the city.
Church of Piece
Cheers
